The Terra Nova Schoolyard Society will host its 6th Annual Chefs to the Field on
Sunday, August 10 from 11 am – 4 pm. Held at the Terra Nova Rural Park located at 2631
Westminster Highway, the day’s program consists of farm tours, live
entertainment, children’s activities, a silent auction, food booths, and an
exciting “black box” cooking competition, which challenges participants to
create 4 different entrée plates in just one hour, using local organic products
and ingredients they have just harvested from the field. The winner will
receive the coveted Green Cuisine Award. Confirmed competitors include: C
Restaurant, Papi’s, Raincity Grill, Terminal City Restaurant, Aurora Bistro,
Culinary Capers and Diva at the Met. The purpose of this event is to promote
community, local organic food, healthy eating and food sustainability. Proceeds
will benefit the Terra Nova Schoolyard Society and Organic Friends of the
